WASHINGTON – Committee on House Administration (CHA) Chairman Vernon J. Ehlers Thursday named William Plaster, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Operations, of the U.S. House of Representatives, as the committee’s staff director, effective Feb. 15.

Plaster, 40, joins the committee after 3-1/2 years as deputy to CAO Jay Eagen. Previously, Plaster served as Ehlers’ legislative director from December 1993 until June 2002. Plaster also has been a staffer for former congressmen Paul Henry, R-Mich., Fred Grandy, R-Iowa, and Guy VanderJagt, R-Mich.

“I am pleased to have Will join the CHA team,” Chairman Ehlers said. “For the past 3-1/2 years, Will has worked closely with the CHA staff as liaison to the CAO’s office, so I have no doubt his transition to the committee will be seamless. I have the utmost confidence in Will’s ability to lead the committee’s staff as we work though many important issues.”

Paul Vinovich, the committee’s present staff director, will remain on the CHA staff as a committee counsel.

“I am happy that Paul will continue his work with the committee,” Chairman Ehlers said. “His experience and insight will be invaluable to the committee as we move forward.”
