Chairman of House Administration Applauds House Passage of Bill Cutting Leg Branch Spending; Maintains Commitment to Identifying Waste and Maximizing Operational Efficiency
WASHINGTON – Today, Committee on House Administration Chairman Dan Lungren, R-Calif., issued the following statement on the House passage of the 2012 Legislative Branch Appropriations Act (H.R. 2551), which reduces the legislative operating budget by $227 million:
“House Republicans continue to lead by example by reining in congressional spending and demonstrating that Congress should not, and will not, be exempt from the extreme economic adversity facing this nation. Just like many families across the country, Congress must and will learn to do more with less.
“I thank my colleagues on the Appropriations Committee for their diligent work, and reaffirm my commitment to identifying additional savings and maximizing the efficiency of House operations.”
