Ehlers Encourages Colleagues and Staff to Maximize Fuel Dollars and Reduce Carbon Emissions
July 27, 2008
“With gas prices at an all time high, the simple step of keeping tires inflated will help ease pain at the pump, as well as reduce carbon emissions, a major threat to the environment,” Ehlers noted in his letter. “I encourage any Members and staff who park in the Rayburn Garage to take advantage of this opportunity to maximize their fuel dollars while helping the environment.”
Ehlers, who has long promoted the importance of simple automobile maintenance to increase fuel efficiency, save money and help protect the environment, assisted with the educational campaign by securing the required permission from the House Office Building Commission to hold the event in the House Rayburn Garage.
In addition to checking tire pressure, the educational demonstration will provide Members and staff with information on simple automobile maintenance steps they can take to reduce fuel consumption. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Rayburn Garage, G2 Level (First Street Entrance).
