Washington, DC – Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis (IL-13) today called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi to seat Rep.-elect Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks when the 117th Congress is sworn in on Sunday, January, 3rd.

"Refusing to seat Rep.-elect Miller-Meeks on January 3rd would be an unprecedented power grab by Speaker Pelosi," said Davis. "The Speaker's narrow margin, which could be as few as seven, should not be a factor when considering whether or not to seat a member-elect. Rep.-elect Miller-Meeks has been certified the winner by the State of Iowa and her constituents deserve to have her representing them immediately in the new Congress."
