115th Freshman Class of the U.S. House of Representatives

WASHINGTON – Today, Committee on House Administration Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI) welcomed the Freshman Class of the 115th Congress. The Committee is responsible for hosting the U.S. House of Representatives' New Member Orientation program to prepare Members-elect for their transition to congressional service. Chairman Miller issued the following statement:

"My Committee has the distinct honor of welcoming the Freshman Class of the 115th Congress to Washington, D.C. to participate in the New Member Orientation program. As Chairman of the Committee on House Administration, one of my primary responsibilities is hosting New Member Orientation and helping Members-elect transition to their congressional service as a Member of Congress. Our orientation program is designed to assist these individuals with the mechanics of the official position, which includes setting up D.C. and District offices, hiring staff, and learning the rules and procedures of the House. We want to ensure they have the resources they need and are ready to serve their constituents from the moment they are sworn into office.

"The 115th Freshman Class is made up of individuals who bring to the House a number of talents, points-of-view, and enthusiasm for engaging on the tough issues affecting our country. I wish the Members-elect well as they focus on serving their constituents and working with their colleagues to lead our nation forward."
