"There is no doubt that the heroic actions by Officer Brian Sicknick and his fellow officers saved countless lives on Wednesday. My prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow officers. We are forever grateful for his service to our country. It is heartbreaking that Officer Sicknick's life was taken because of the needless violence that occurred at our nation's Capitol this week. This attack on our Capitol has taken so much from our country, but nothing is greater than the loss of a human life. I continue to stand in support of every one of Officer Sicknick's fellow officers in ensuring changes are made so they are never overwhelmed and outnumbered like the world saw during Wednesday's attack."
