June 12, 2019
WASHINGTON – Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis (IL-13) issued the following statement on the appointment of the Republican Franking Commission Members to serve for the 116th Congress. Those appointed are Representatives Bryan Steil (WI-01) as Ranking Member, Bob Latta (OH-05), and Mark Walker (NC-06).
“I’m pleased to welcome the new Franking Commission Members for the 116th Congress. As a Member who served on the Franking Commission for four years, two of those being the Chairman, I understand the importance of this bipartisan work overseeing our official communications to constituents while preventing misuse of taxpayer dollars,” said Rep. Davis. “It is essential that a Representative be able to communicate effectively with their constituents, and I trust Bryan, Bob, and Mark will assist Members in accomplishing this goal in their new roles on the Franking Commission. I look forward to continuing the bipartisan process for implementing our transparency initiatives and modernizing the Franking Commission’s digital policies.”
“Thank you to Rodney Davis for appointing me to serve as Ranking Member," said Rep. Steil. "The Franking Commission has an important opportunity to modernize and find innovative ways for Members of Congress to communicate with their constituents. Ensuring Members use taxpayer dollars wisely and utilize the tools and resources of the Commission is critical. I look forward to bringing the Franking Commission into the 21st century.”
