WASHINGTON – Today, Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R-IL) and House Committee on Education and Labor Ranking Member Virginia Foxx (R-NC) sent a letter to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking how he plans to prevent or counteract partisan election education taking place in Atlanta Public Schools. This comes following the recent report that Stacey Abrams' New Georgia Project, in coordination with Rock the Vote, conducted blatantly partisan "voter education" in public high school classrooms.

As the letter states:
"The lesson plans ‘taught students that voter identification laws are ‘restrictive' and make voting ‘more difficult,' and that policies limiting ‘flexible voting options' like mail-in voting restrict people's ‘freedom to vote.' Further, Nse Ufot, the CEO of Abrams' New Georgia Project, which has the stated purpose of "flip[ping] Georgia blue," has made her low opinion of Republicans clear by stating in a recent article, ‘I'm not in the business of pretending like [Republicans] are anything but a criminal enterprise that is intent on attacking our democracy and our country and our government from the inside.'"

The letter continues:
"This report comes at a time when parents have become increasingly frustrated at the progressive policies infiltrating public education and when voter confidence in our elections systems is at an all-time low. The United States' decentralized election system is one of the strongest in the world. Unfortunately, situations like this one in Atlanta do real damage to voter confidence in our election systems and outcomes at a time when we can least afford it."
